Heart Topped Bun

I just posted our first video on YouTube. The style is a bit advanced, but I hope it will be recreated. It is the Heart Topped Bun. The video can be viewed on YouTube https://youtu.be/i86fR8Z1X0c.

I have done done a pictorial tutorial on this style but I thought I would type it out and you can follow it on the video also. Please keep in mind that this is my very first tutorial and it is rocky, I have learned a lot and now what to change. Each video will be improved as I go.

Step 1: Split hair along the bottom of the head just below the ear, the part will need to go from one side of the head to the other

Step 2: Split the bottom part in two, then make 2 braids, tie off the ends

Step 3: The remaining hair on the top part of the head needs to be tied off with a large elastic. Try and make the ponytail halfway up the head.

Step 4: Use your bun maker and put the hair through the center of the bun maker. Spread the hair around the bun maker.

Step 5: Put an elastic around the hair and bun maker to keep the bun secure, bring up the bottom two braids and secure in the elastic.

Step 6: Take out a small section of hair at he top of the bun, split the hair in half and make 2 braids. These braids will form the heart.

Step 7: Twist or braid the hair that is around the bun, bobby pin the twist or braid into place.

Step 8: Shape the heart bringing one braid to the left of the bun and another braid to the right of the bun, tie off the ends and secure the heart in place. The tail of the heart can be tucked into the twist or braid that is around the bun.

Step 9: Take ribbon and string the ribbon up the 2 braids at the base of the head, just like tying a shoe.

Viola the style is complete. Please watch the video for directions, and pictures will be coming soon.

If you decide to recreate, and you have an Instagram account please use the hashtag #lrbhearttoppedbun so I can see the recreation, and you can always use my personal account hashtag of #littleredbraids. Thanks, and come again!
